The Projects

The Newsletter

This was the original aim of the circle, to start a newsletter that would let people know about the different events that are going on the village and most importantly, would entertain. Our first newsletter came out in September 2005. We aimed to produce one a month (I did say aim!) and deliver it free of charge to every house in the village.

The newsletter consisted of factual articles, jokes, entertainment news, village announcements and dates for diaries. The newsletter was enjoyed by many people in the village and the all looked forward to their copy.

The Secret Garden

This was probably our most ambitious project to date. It involved completely landscaping the area of land opposite our base in Morriston Place.

It was done with the help of Groundwork and some very helpful volunteers from the village. We planted living willow and put benches in there so that people would have somewhere to walk or just sit and enjoy.

It was a lot of hard work involving a lot of mud, dirt and water.  We also planted flowers, and in spring these were in full bloom. The garden is enjoyed by everyone, from toddlers to OAP’s.

Village DVD

Our latest project, is a DVD of village landmarks. Featuring the School, Community Hall, Church and Trotting Track. Which was made possible by funding secured through Councillor Arwyn Woolcock.

We have been invited along to the Tairgwaith Old Age meeting on February 18th, where they will be the first to see the DVD 'Tairgwaith Our Village'
